Modern authentication service (the university’s standard authentication service) is available for most web and cloud-based applications. The service provides a common, secure, central login service for both local and cloud-based application authentication as well as authentication services for federated, collaborative applications used by other UNC universities and the UNC-System Office and other entities that are part of the InCommon Federation. Faculty and/or staff may request information about current campus applications or consultation when purchasing applications.

Consulting on Authentication Services available by appointment Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

IT’s Role

Identity Management Services provides authentication service, account creation, account management, and data integration with source systems such as Banner and Active Directory.
