Each month, the Division of IT hi-lights a service. This month, we feature a new service- File Collaboration.

The Division of IT has recently completed the move of WCU faculty/staff email to Office 365, a Microsoft cloud hosting solution.   Now that your WCU email account is on Office 365, you have access to OneDrive, a file collaboration tool that provides your account unlimited storage for your files.

With multiple options for file storage, you may have questions about the best location to store or collaborate with your files.  We are available to answer these questions, and we have provided some online information to help you determine the best solution for your needs.

  • Use this wizard to help you determine the best solution to store or collaborate with your files:    File Collaboration Wizard

Note that the only WCU-supported storage solutions are ‘OneDrive – Western Carolina University’, H-Drive, and SharePoint.

The following Knowledge Articles located on http://help.wcu.edu may answer your questions about OneDrive:

What is ‘OneDrive’  and how do I access it through Office 365?    How do I share files within OneDrive – Western Carolina University?   How do I share a OneDrive document through Windows Explorer?    How do I open a OneDrive shared document or share a file through Email?

In addition to the online information listed above, training is available for OneDrive by watching the Online Video:  OneDrive for Western Carolina University. Face-to-face training is also available upon request.

For any additional questions or to request face-to-face training for OneDrive, please contact the IT Help Desk.
