Equitrac and Windows 10: A recent update to Windows 10 from Microsoft is not compatible with out current version of Equitrac, resulting in printing issues for some WCU faculty and staff. Some faculty and staff are receiving an error stating that they have no available funds to print while others are not being prompted to accept billing charges. As a workaround, IT technicians are manually updating the Equitrac application for affected computers. An automated update to all WCU-owned Windows 10 computers is scheduled for December to correct the issue.
Vehicle Registration: We recently began receiving reports that students were unable to access the “Renew Vehicle Registration” page. They were receiving an error message stating “Vehicle registration service is unavailable at this time. We are working to restore the service now. Please check back later in the day.” Vehicle Registration was recently moved to a new hosted website. A correction has been made to apply the address of the new Vehicle Registration hosted website.
Class Registration: During registration for the Spring 2017 semester, some students began reporting that they were unable to register or that they are having to submit multiple times before being able to register. It was discovered that the issue occurred during the first 10 minutes of registration with the larger registration groups (1,000 – 1,200 registrants). IT staff worked with GA to increase the resources available for registrants during the peak periods of registration, and the result was an 80% faster registration time for students.
